This month on What's Old is New Kit Blog I had the opportunity to play with 2 kits ...how lucky can one girl get?

This layout was also from the kit ...I l love the vintage Music Paper (which I used as my main pp)

This kit may be sold out but there are still others available and they are all fabulous value...in fact I dare say that I have never seen so much in a kit for suck a good price.

Love how all the bits coordinate and there is little thinking left to do ...lol

Scrapbook Savvy have a monthly Sketch challenge (as well as 4 other great challenges that I didn't get to this month) so if you want to have a bit of fun and do some great challenges Savvy is where I play most months. It is also has a new owner (one of my White with 1 girls) SarW or Sarah Ward...so this is a little plug for her...

"Hoot" is my take on the sketch...I really struggled with this paper (having purple on it and all) but I am happy with the outcome. For those of you that don't know Hoot is my sons nickname (since birth) and I try to include an owl on all of his layouts. So regardless of the purple I had to have this paper.

Creative Scrappers have a fortnightly Sketch and I am on the DT over there (Fantastic site and Fantastic Sketches) This is one from a month ago that I neglected to post on my blog so it is just a catch up. Will have a recent one to share soon.

"crazy kid" is a photo of Ashton messing about with those lolly teeth...he is a nutter at times and thankfully I am a scrapper so my camera is always at hand. How lucky are our kids that we scrap as we are able to capture all those antics that most mums miss...lol

Inspired Blueprints Sketch # 16

I have used Stampin' Up Papers for this layout and I have to say that they go perfectly with the photos.

I love these photos of Eve she looks so windswept...

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #18.

These photos have been at the bottom of my pile to scrap as I have just not had the right papers or challenge to do them with ...but hey presto... again the purple in the photos was throwing me...I have such a disability when it comes to scrapping that colour.

Now for some me news...I have had 2 boosts to my confidence this week

1. Scrapbooking Memories have asked me to do their Sketch Challenge (a sketch by Teressa Collins) and boy is it going to be a challenge (colour blocking)
2. Scrapbook Creations have asked me to do the 20/40/60 Challenge (with a very generous pack of product being sent to me in the mail) I have to do a layout is 40 minute (another huge challenge as I am a painfully slow scrapper...lol)

So YAY Me ...but OMG challenge!!!

Photo credits for this layout and the previous one of Wends and Charlie (my sister and nephew) go to Kells
"First Day of Kindy" this kit was perfect for the photos. How proud does he look...and no tears (except for me in the car after drop off).

All mums with kids at school will know what I mean when I say this was a HUGE day!!! My first baby is growing up...

Also What is old is New is sponsoring Scrapbooking Top 50's Week long Mothers Day Crop, we have created and sponsored a challenge (#5) and you can check it out HERE!!!All the fun starts on May 6th!!!Lots of great challenges, prizes and fun to be had!!!

"Perfect day Opening Presents" is my take on the Scrap the Girls challenge for this month. The photos are of Eve first thing on her 3rd birthday opening her presents (had to use flash it was that early in the morning).

The papers are My little shoebox papers (quite novelty but perfect colours for birthday photos)

Check out the challenge (and sketch) here

My May Scrap the Boys Challenge is up and I have to say for all those of you needing inspiration to scrap your men it is a fabulous challenge.

Here is the criteria:
On this months layouts I would like you to think about your boys and how fast they grow…
With that in mind you have 2 optional words that need to appear in your title…
Grow (eg. You have grown up so fast)Time (eg. Where has the time gone?)

Additional criteria:Embellishments that measure eg. Clocks, measuring tapes, rulers, grids, calendars, date stamps …or whatever else you can think of that measures…

There is also a colour swap this month that Wends is running for me ...Black, Red and Cream (any boy embellishment in those colours)
"Time goes so fast" is my take on the challenge. This is my favourite photo of Ashton ..he looks so grown up.

My May White With 1 challenge blog has its new challenge up this months criteria is:

White
Olive
Birds

Also there is a colour swap this month is Green...

"Natural Beauty" is my take on the challenge and I love the photo of Eve taken at the local park grounds.

The bird is a stamped one from a Stampin Up set I borrowed from Wends (it is available in the new catalogue...shameless plug...lol)

Inspired Blueprints & WW1

Here is my layout for this months White With 1 challenge (better late than never) I have since added journaling onto the photo will post a new image once I photograph it.

The Criteria this month is:
White
Coral
Journal on the photo.

The photo in "your eyes dance when you smile" is of Eve on her 3rd Birthday and the best one of the day I might add as birthdays are very serious business.

Pop over to the blog and have a go at the challenge loads of fab prizes to be won.

"my whole life" is my take on Inspired Blueprints Sketch # 15.

The photos were taken by Rob on a day trip out ...not very often I get to bein the photos with my precious bundles.

" Pass the parcel" is my take on the Inspired Blueprints Sketch #14.

I have used My little shoebox papers.

The photos are of Eve and my Nephew Angus, during Eves 3rd birthday, playing pass the parcel.

"Love Cherish Adore" is my take on Inspired Blueprints sketch # 13.

The papers are some left over scraps Wends had from a GDT Kit supplied by TSE. She challenged me to do something with them and this is what I came up with. They even had Vellum in them (what the?) but I was quite pleased with the end result.

The photos are of my 2 precious kids on New Years Day (a tradition I hope to keep up every year to document their growth...if I remember)

The Sneaks have gone up on What's Old is New too so if you are after a cheap kit (really nice) pop over and check them out...my layouts will go up on the 1st of May...

Creative Scrappers and other reveals

"My Girl" is my take on the Creative Scrappers Sketch #47

I have kept the embellishing to an absolute minimum as the sketch was quite busy for my style.

The DT reveal showed some really different takes on the sketch it is worth a trip over to the blog to have a look see...

The photo is one of my all time favourites as it shows the love my son has for his girlfriend, Ashlee. You would not believe they are onely 4 and he is already picking out the china pattern. I guess that will change soon enough as a scrappy mum I am enjoying it while it lasts.

"hold onto your heart" is my Scrap the Boys example layout for April. the layout is inspired by and advert ...pop over and check it out. I love the paint effect ...never done this before.

The photo is an oldie...of Ashton and Rob when Ash was just a bub...The little trees where from a swap.

This layout was last months Wicked Princessess Sketch. My take was a little different from the others as it was highly colour blocked (which I really struggle with)

The photos are of Ashton balancing shoes on his head...quite a mean feat in itself...he wasvery proud of himself.

Hold onto your knickers!!!

For those girls that know me be prepared for a huge shock...thats right I scrapped in PURPLE!!!

Something I never do and swore I could never come at...but....

My new kit from the Whats Old is New Kit Site was red and purple. The following 3 layouts are made up from the very affordable kit that is selling for $19-95...I have not added any of my own stash...all three layouts are purely from the kit (and there was a little left over too:)

"Living Life" has photos of me on my 35th birthday...stuffing my face with cake.
"super kids" are photos of my 2 also on my birthday with their party masks on from their party bags...playing super heros....hmmm purple:?

"you make my heart flutter" is a photo of Eve at the playgroup Christmas Party.

Who knew I had so many photos that had purple in them to be able to scrap these papers.

"what a looker" is my layout I did using the White With 1 layout criteria last month (I know slack) Navy and Stars.

If you have time and like a challenge check out this months criteria which is WHITE, CORAL and Journal in your photo.

Photos are of Ashton last year at the boardwalk ...mucking about.

Scrap the Girls challenge this month is a colour challenge. The colours are Blue, Pink, Yellow and Cream. Here is what I came up with...

"cake Addict" is a photo of Eve on her 3rd birthday (a couple of weeks ago) taking the first bite of her birthday cake...which was a penguin btw. Like mother like daughter...hmmm

A few challenge layouts

"contented" is my take on Mel's Savvy Scraplift ...

My take is a little different to the origional by the basics are there.

I have used older Basic Grey Blush papers and a doiley I got from the Salvos. The alphas are basic Grey Choc Chips. The HS flower is stamped with a cute music background stamp by Delish...thanks to Mel for that addition to my stash...
Bon's Write Now Challenge this month was to scrap about your youngest...I chose to scrap about our youngest child...Eve.

"forever our baby" is the layout I created for this challenge. I have used older Basic Grey Blush papers and a doiley and some old book paper I got from the Salvos. The alphas are basic Grey Choc Chips.

The photo is of Eve at 6 months in a vintage dress my Mum bought her. I love the classic clothing on babys...lol

bon's monthly layout competition this month had a gorgeous picture of a beadroom in soft pinks and blues with a mobile made from twigs and butterflies...sooo pretty.

"baby pink" is my take on the challenge. Papers are Making Memories and the photo is of Eve at 8 weeks.

What's Old is New Reveal

So here they are ...my layouts created with the first kit release from What's Old is New Kit Site.

The kit I used is called Butterfly Kisses and has the following items in it:

3 x Bazzill
6 x Papers:Jenni Bowlin, Making Memories and SEI Jolie Chocolat
1/2 pack of Making Memories Sticker Alphas
1 Single Basic Grey stamp
Assorted Embelishments
Price $16.35

A bargain I might add...all the kits are under $20 so you can afford to get more than 1 and they will do a deal on the postage. I will also add that I was able to do the 3 layouts comfortably and still had stuff left over from the kit.

Creative Scrappers have revealed their Sketch #43 and here is my take on it. I have used Sassafras Lass papers...the photo is a bit lacking on this one it has been really overcast when I took it...

Also big news for me I have made the DT for a second term with Creative Scrappers so I am feeling very priveledged to be able to continue my DT spot on this fantastic site.

The other girls that made the team are:

WOW-O-WOW!!!!

Check this out!!!!

There is a brand new kit site... it is NEW,EXCITING,CHEAP...it's "What's Old Is New"... all the kits are under $20.00 (limited kits available per month).

The goodies in the kit are co-ordinated from older scrapping stuff to the most modern papers and embellishments around and they are soooo yummy. The sneaks are currently available, and the whole kits will be released tonight. Pop over have a look ...What's Old Is New.

And exciting for me I get to play with the kits before they are release as I am priviledged to be on the team.

Layout Catch Up

Scrapbook Savvy have a monthly Sketch Challenge and this is my take on the sketch. I have used Ambrosia papers and photos of my 2 eating "hot Chippies" on the boardwalk.

I love scrapping everyday (non special) events as I think they make up the story of my kids just as much (if not more) as the big events.
"a penguin" is a layout I did for the Scrap the girls challenge blog using a sketch by Liz Weber.

The papers are WeR and even thought the photos are really dark they are of a cute moment...when Eve popped on some flippers she had scavanged from the beach and decided she was a penguin. Which to her was histerical.
Creative Scrappers sketch #41 has been posted and it is a beauty.

Here is my take on it...the papers are Granola (BG) and the photos are of Ash climbing Wendy's tree out the front of her house. Check out the concentration on his face...lol

I handmade the little tree with my Marvy Giga punch and a handdrawn treetrunk.

"Round and Round" is the layout I did for round 1 of Scrapboutiques Passion 4 Fasion 2 (which I have since dropped out of)
Papers are Get Happy (CC) and photos are of my 2 on the supermarket roundabout.

Scrapbook 'n Bits had a CC and I completed a couple of the challenges ...this one was the sketch.
Papers are a combo of BG's and MM's and the photo is of Eve and I around Christmas.
love this girl ...can you tell?

Challenge 2 was to make a minimum of 2 of the same shape embellies using different techniques. I stamped into Opals on one of my hearts, and glittered in Opals another of the hearts and added a button to the 3rd heart.
Papers are MM Love story and the photo is taken on NYD of my 3 favourite people.

Close up of the hearts
